Through my guy I had the opportunity to meet the area manager for Heart and Stroke for Kingston. I immediately sent him an email to let him know how eager I would be to work with Heart and Stroke to share my story. After a great meeting he agreed to keep me in mind for future speaking engagements.
So this week the area manager and I discussed my first opportunity to speak with him on behalf of Heart and Stroke!! I am very excited.
This is not a TED talk. It will not be a stadium full of people but it will be an opportunity to share my story and continue to build on my foundation as a chronic illness ambassador . . . so I am THRILLED.
And there is icing on the cake too. (Today’s post is all about Heart and Stroke, y’all.)
My guy and a few of his friends have started a multicultural social club and Kingston and our group will be doing the Heart and Stroke BIG BIKE this May!!!!!
A group of us will get pledges and ride for this amazing cause. I did the Big Bike last year as part of the Hotel Dieu, Cardiac Rehabilitation team. It was a great experience . . . fun and rewarding.
Sometimes you get reassurance that you ARE on the right path.
It’s no coincidence that my boyfriend is friends with the area manager for Heart and Stoke. It’s no coincidence that this year I will be doing Big Bike again but with two teams!!! (Having had such a great experience last year.)
Right now I can look at so many areas of my life that are BLOSSOMING because I took that first step on this one year journey.
I am no where near the end . . . or at any pinnacle . . . but I am further than I was from even last November when I started.
I am so thankful.
